This document includes the results of a building industry-internal as well as an external benchmarking as part of the foundation of the InPro project. It is the objective of the task which is the basis for this report to analyse the state of the art in model based and collaborative working in other industries. The selected partner industries are aircraft manufacturing, plant engineering and shipbuilding. These partners were chosen due to their similar specific characteristics to the building industry, like uniqueness of the products and their complex project structures. As the main result of the survey, the key success factors to make an open information environment possible are defined.
