Process maps for Key Process 4: Construction scheduling

A reliable construction schedule is needed for the definition, within agreed margins, of construction time and costs. This is an essential part of the result of the InPro Early Design phase to enable a go/no-go decision from the client. This key process is essential for the end result of InPro, but is also a key process in InPro because InPro needs the derivation of such a schedule in an earlier stage of design and based on less detailed information to support the collaborative decision process. This key process case aims to assemble a construction sequence based on quantities derived from a model of the construction project.
The resulting schedule should indicate process interdependences and individual process durations as well as assigned labour, machines and material resources. This gives a forecast of milestones, start and end dates as well as resources needed during the construction process. The complete schedules should serve as basis for transition to adjacent upper or lower level of detail (both directions are needed depending on time of project entry).
